The Modular Diecast Car Display Shelf: Mix, Match & Grow the Collection
Share
If your child collects Hot Wheels, Matchbox or Monster Jam trucks, you already know how quickly a few cars become a few hundred. They spill out of shoeboxes, disappear under the couch, and get stepped on in the dark. What most families really need isn't more storage — it's a diecast car display shelf that keeps the whole collection visible, tidy, and easy to add to over time.
That's exactly what the JORA 7 Slim-Line Toy Shelf and our JCAR display racks were designed to do together. Because the racks share the same face size, one shelf becomes a modular wall system you can rearrange as the collection grows.

The real problem with a growing car collection
Loose diecast cars are chaos: hard to see, easy to lose, and impossible to display with any pride. Bins hide the collection; a single flat shelf runs out of room in a month. Kids also outgrow set-ups fast — the storage that worked at age three looks cluttered by age six.
A good diecast car display shelf needs to do three things at once: show the cars off, keep them dust-free, and leave room to expand. A fixed rack nailed to the wall can't grow with the hobby. A modular one can.
One shelf, interchangeable racks — how it works
The JORA 7 is a solid pinewood, wall-mounted shelf that stands 145 cm tall and 120 cm wide, with 7 height-adjustable tiers. On its own it's a lovely toy shelf. Paired with JCAR racks, it becomes a display cabinet for a car collection.
Here's the clever part. Both racks are built to the same face size — H50 × W58 cm:
- JCAR 60 — 60 slots for standard 1:64 cars (Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Pixar Cars, Greenlight), just 5 cm deep.
- JCAR Monster — 20 deeper slots (8 cm) sized for 1:64 and chunky 1:43 vehicles: Hot Wheels Monster Trucks, Monster Jam, and big-scale Disney Cars.
Same width, same height, different depth. That shared footprint is what makes them interchangeable on the shelf.
Because every JCAR rack has the same H50 × W58 cm face, the JORA 7's 120 cm-wide tiers hold two racks side by side — and you can swap or mix them any time without moving a single screw.

How many racks fit on the JORA 7 shelf?
Each tier of the JORA 7 is wide enough for two JCAR racks side by side (2 × 58 cm = 116 cm, comfortably inside the 120 cm width). That gives you three easy ways to load a tier:
- Two JCAR 60s — up to 120 standard 1:64 cars on a single tier.
- Two JCAR Monsters — 40 monster trucks and large-scale vehicles.
- One of each — everyday cars on one side, oversized trucks on the other.
Because the 7 tiers are height-adjustable, you decide how much of the shelf becomes a car display and how much stays open for books, playsets and larger toys. Set the tier spacing taller to give the racks headroom, or dedicate the lower tiers to racks so little hands can reach their favourites.
JCAR 60 vs JCAR Monster — which racks to load

Most collections start with 1:64 scale — that's the classic Hot Wheels and Matchbox size, and where the JCAR 60 shines with its 60 slim slots. As the collection branches into monster trucks and bigger 1:43 models, add a JCAR Monster alongside it. The deeper slots stop oversized trucks from hanging off the edge, and because the faces match, your shelf still looks like one clean, intentional display.
Ready to fill more tiers? The same system extends to the whole JCAR range — including the 50-slot JCAR Garage — so a collection can keep growing without a single mismatched rack.

Why solid pinewood and wall-mounted
Both the shelf and the racks are made from solid pinewood — warm, sturdy, and built to survive years of little hands, rather than the flimsy plastic organisers that crack and yellow. Everything is designed to be wall-anchored (hardware included with the JORA 7), which keeps a tall, loaded shelf safe in a child's room and frees up precious floor space.
The neutral timber finish suits nurseries, playrooms and bedrooms, and the racks double as display pieces for figurines and other small collectibles once the car phase evolves.
A display that grows with the collection
The point of a modular set-up is that you never have to start over. Begin with the JORA 7 shelf and a single rack, then add racks tier by tier as birthdays and Christmases add cars. Swap a JCAR 60 for a JCAR Monster when the monster-truck obsession hits. Rearrange the adjustable tiers when tastes change. One shelf, endless combinations — and a collection that's finally on show instead of underfoot.
