Yes! designed to be compatible with Duplo baseplate. Joykids Double Sided Board (Duplo) & Magicplate (Duplo)

2. Can I combine this with the Gear & Peg Set?
Yes! In fact, we highly recommend it. You can use the STEM Gears to create "rotating gates" or "mechanical lifts" for your marble run. Mixing the two sets allows your child to build complex, interactive engineering walls.

3. Is it easy for a child to snap the pieces on?
Yes. The pieces are designed for "large-block" compatibility, which is specifically engineered for smaller hands (ages 3+). It helps develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination without being frustratingly difficult to assemble.

More than a box of pieces

Why build it upright.

Building flat on the floor and building up a wall are different problems. Upright, a chute has to be held by what is under it, and the whole run stays in view instead of being knelt over.

It is also a run you can watch from across the room, which is most of why a child builds one at all.
